Assessing patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) significance on cardiac output by whole‑body bio‑impedance

Conclusion:
We found significant differences in hemodynamic parameters between premature infants with and without
significant PDAs. We believe these changes can aid in the diagnosis of large PDAs and in the decision to start
treatment. The NICaS device can provide a quick and simple bedside assessment, and together with an
echocardiogram, can improve our treatment.
